Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
Aimee Voth Siebert is the Community Inclusion Coordinator and Disaster Behavioral Health Specialist with the Colorado Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response (OEPR). Aimee has worked for OEPR since May 2012, launching immediately into state responses for the 2012 and 2013 Wildfire Seasons, the Aurora Theater Shooting, the September 2013 floods, and the Planned Parenthood Shooting in November 2015. Following the 2013 floods, Aimee led the grant writing for a $800,000 immediate services crisis counseling program for 12 federally-declared Colorado Counties. In September and October 2015, she deployed to support the CDC's Ebola response in Sierra Leone as a Health Promotion Specialist, where she experienced the value of iterative public health system improvement through community outreach and feedback. Outside of disaster response, Aimee is dedicated to promoting a people-centered lens for emergency planning and preparedness. She offers training in disaster behavioral health, community inclusion, and crisis communications. She is certified as an Advanced PIO and as a CDC Crisis and Emergency Risk Communication trainer. The Community Inclusion in Colorado mapping project (bit.ly/communityinclusionmaps), which Aimee began developing with colleagues at CDPHE and Assistive Technology Partners during her fellowship with the Regional Institute for Health and Environmental Leadership, was recognized as a "promising practice" for Emergency Management Inclusive of People with Disabilities by FEMA and the ADA National Network. Aimee and her husband Michael moved to Colorado in 2010. They enjoy the plethora of movie and music venues, craft beer, and all the National Parks and recreation areas. Aimee completed her Masters in International Disaster Psychology at the University of Denver in 2012. Day-to-day, Aimee likes volunteering, reading nonfiction and sci-fi/fantasy stories, and competing in her local Toastmasters club. She will go running on the Cherry Creek trail if Michael makes her.
