Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Epidemiology
Denver
Julia (she/her) is an alcohol epidemiologist at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Her work focuses on preventing excessive alcohol use and related harms among Coloradans, as well as increasing capacity for other public health practitioners in the state to work on excessive alcohol use prevention. Julia tries to understand substance use prevention from an upstream approach, considering health equity and social justice in prevention strategies. In her work, she uses mostly population level survey data (such as Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey, BRFSS) and data that is publicly available from the Department of Revenue.
