Kristin McDermott is the Epidemiology and Evaluation Program Manager in the Center for Health and Environmental Data at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Under her leadership, Kristin's 14 member team implements epidemiology and evaluation projects for a wide variety of programs at CDPHE focused on preventing disease and improving health outcomes. Currently, her team is implementing multiple state level evaluations for the Diabetes/CVD, Cander, Oral Health, Clinic Quality Improvement, and Nutrition Services programs. Throughout her 20-year career, Kristin has helped numerous government programs demonstrate accountability, express value, and focus improvement through evaluation and data. Prior to joining CDPHE in 2009, she led outcome-based performance improvement initiatives at the Colorado Department of Human Services including a department-wide Balanced Scorecard effort, multiple department-wide surveys, and division-specific quality assurance and performance improvement programs. Kristin is also an experienced group facilitator and enjoys helping programs and their stakeholders reach consensus about direction and explore issues impacting their work. Kristin holds an M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and a B.A. in Psychology.
