Dr. Wallace is a board-certified Family Physician since 1987. He attended the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California receiving his medical degree in 1984. Dr. Wallace subsequently completed a 3-year residency in Family Practice at the UCLA-Santa Monica Hospital Medical Center and then a 1-year post-graduate fellowship in Academic Family Medicine at the UCLA Center for the Health Sciences. He received his Masters in Public Health from the UCLA School of Public Health in 1989 with an emphasis in health system organization and financing. Dr. Wallace completed the Johnson & Johnson/UCLA Health Care Executive Program at the John E. Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA in 2004. Since 2000 he has served as the Executive Director and Chief Health Officer of the Weld County Department of Public Health & Environment. Innovating at a local level, Dr. Wallace, acting with two other community healthcare leaders, founded and continues to serve as CEO/CMO of the North Colorado Health Alliance. Dr. Wallace also serves as a Regional Medical Director for Colorado Access. He has worked for three different hospital systems in various leadership roles including directing graduate medical education programs. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sunrise Community Health - a clinic system providing over 135,000 patient visits annually through 10 sites in Greeley, Evans and Loveland, Colorado. Dr. Wallace serves on the Boards of Directors of the Colorado Health Foundation, the Center for Improving Value In Health Care, and the Northern Colorado Medical Society.
